Mission

We are committed to improving the lives of children by providing an art program that also supports education and community. Our goal is to build the Jambo Hope center, a place where children are inspired to dream and build better futures. To not just survive but a place they can be nurtured, receiving the care and resources they need to thrive.

Vision

We envision a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. By creating the Kenya Hope Center, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and provide children with the tools they need to succeed and create a brighter future.

Our Team

Michael Nduta

FOUNDER & COACH

My name is Michael I was born and raised in Keyna in Nairobi by a single parent. By the time I was 6 life became so hard, my mother got sick and she couldn’t work anymore, So I had to go to the streets to find something to eat and maybe bring her something from collecting bottles and selling them to get a meal. By about 7, I was introduced to a program that would come to the streets and would feed us a meal on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and taught us the dangers of taking drugs. That evolved into taking us to school and giving us formal education and skills for farming and how to be clean and take care of yourself. After a time the owner of the project decided to build a home for about 30 of us that we could all live in and we started to get donations and people that wanted to support the home and allow us to eat and introduced programs like acrobatics and dance to teach us skills for the future. These skills that were taught to us were so important because it built character, confidence, focus, and an interest into knowing more about it. It caused me to focus so much that I got really good in it and realized I had talent. Later after finishing school I was asked if I wanted to join a special acrobatic school. From here I was given a chance to be part of a program that let me travel all over world performing, teaching and learning from other countries. Through donations and support from key people me and my troupe were funded to travel and perform all over the world. Today I am successful as a professional performer and choreographer for several shows in China and other places in world. Today I am so happy to come full circle and give back to other children on the streets. To be able to teach other kids these skills and create a program for their future. The new Jambo Kenya Hope Center will be the way that we can continue to take children off the streets and give them skills to create a better future for them and their communities. Laura and I are happy to introduce new programs offered in this center to achieve better futures for these children, like I received.
